Mercedes-Benz G-Class – new engines

The old Mercedes-Benz “Gelaendewagen” keeps on going, 27 years after its debut. Despite the arrival of the GL-Class, Magna-Steyr will continue to build it in Austria, and Mercedes has renewed and simplified its engine range.
From now on the G-Class will be available with three different engines: G 320 CDI (3 liters V6 turbo-diesel, 224 ps / 540 Nm); G 500 (5 liters V8, 296 ps / 456 Nm); G 55 AMG (super-charged V8, 476 ps / 700 Nm).
The new G 320 CDI replaces both the G 270 CDI and the G 400 CDI, with the new Euro-4 compliant engine with anti-particulate filter, coupled to the 7G-TRONIC 7-speed automatic gearbox.
The G-Class is available in three different body versions: SW short (4.21 meters), SW long (4.66 meters) and Cabriolet (4.26 meters) with an electro-hydraulically actuated soft-top.
