2007 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class: A Handsome SUV for all seasons

The 2007 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class is a seven-seat, strong SUV built on the same platform as the redesigned M-Class. It is the most appealing of the German automaker’s sport-utility vehicles and not expensive too.

The GL450 comes with a 4.7-liter gasoline V8 capable of 335 hp and 339 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control is standard on these two trims. Its fuel mileage is 15 mpg city and 19 mpg highway while the GL320 CDI has an impressive 20/25 EPA rating. When properly equipped, it can tow a maximum of 7,500 pounds.

With a well-appointed a comfortable cabin, this GL is all the more attractive. Seat comfort is excellent with sufficient head and legroom. The driver’s rearward vision has been improved by a one-touch up and down function for all four windows and flush-folding rear headrests. All the three row seats have been designed keeping in view the modern design. A maximum of 83 cubic feet of cargo space is available when all the seats are folded.

For entertainment, its audio system comes with a glove box-mounted six-disc CD/MP3 changer and an auxiliary input jack. An optional Premium Package with more features is available with GL450.

For 2007, the Mercedes-Benz GL320 CDI and GL450 come with various standard safety features like antilock brakes with brake assist, stability control, and full-length side curtain airbags with an integrated rollover sensor and first- and second-row side airbags. Hill-descent control, Tele Aid and Hill start assist are also included. The front and rear parking sensors are available with Premium Package.
